(Purpose of following note, which may appear somewhat impertinent to the above Vichardharah appeal on Social and National issues, is to bring facts on the surface. This should not sound as a complaint whatsoever.)
**Seeking voluntary contribution is to cultivate sense of (almost non-existent) philanthropy and a habit of giving, in particular among individuals, a shift from a past practice, followed as a culture. A case in reference –
Vivekananda Memorial in Kanyakumari was built with 1 Re. donation by 30 lacs citizen, equal to Rs. 20 Crore in present day value of the currency. Even if a conservative figure is estimated and arrived at on the spending of millions, including poorest of poor, on religious rituals annually, it would be anybody’s guess that the amount would run in, not in multi-millions, but in billions keeping in view our population. All this to seek/expect favours from God in return. In present day when survival is not even an issue and people have everything in abundance, we hardly see large-hearted, sensitive people who display empathy. This reflects that in the name of progress and advancement, our major losses have been credibility, innocence, human touch and sensitivity, and we have won hands down on trust-deficit!
As we approach festive season, TeamVichaardharah expresses their sincere wishes for humanity for a fulfilled New Year. As we transit through a phase that is vulnerable in more ways than you and I can imagine, each one of us needs to work with one goal in sight- decorating mindsets to decency to avoid lurking societal doomsday & saving humanity!
