Drought and Diarrhea

• Issues are security, cleanliness, space for footpaths for leisurely walking and orderly parking, deployment of (visible) forces to manage crowds & control anti-social elements roaming around freely without any sense of fear, like snatchers, eve-teasers, rogues, scoundrels, scavengers, cheats, rapists, and what not under the Sun.

• Problems like customer care, hoarding, overcharging, adulteration, farce education, healthcare, law & order, corruption, could-not-care-less attitude of the public servants, unchecked price rise; civic sense, lack of infrastructure, anarchy in educational institutions, medical & legal services, ever–increasing tendencies of vandalism, safety of women, children & old, etc. need to be paid due attention.

• There is a very old proverb which says - “There are only two ways to survive in this world - by your own industry or stupidity of others”. How aptly this applies on contemporary India, particularly those involved in any business activity. From a petty seller on the footpath to traders, tycoons and multinationals, they all are prospering leaps and bounds at the cost of a billion plus behaving in utter nonsense. Calling them all a stupid force would be like belittling ourselves. We are the smartest & wisest being on the planet, only act stupidly, sometime like third grade idiots - in all aspects of ‘LIFE’. It is a shame that we allowed a handful of politicians & bureaucracy to make our great & glorified nation the way it is today – a nation for celebrities and rich anarchies and vandals. Even on a very conservative note, every second citizen appears to be either a corrupt, a vandal or a sadist! Why we suffer from such inferiority complex is a subject of deep research. Self-respect precedes self-sustainment. In present time environment, if someone wants, he can sell pouches of ‘pure’ 100 gms sand to one lakh customers in a couple of days without any check or chances of his being caught. If anyone has any doubt, the writer accepts the challenge to do a public demonstration of this skill!! What is this – being industrious or stupidity? Industry on the part of seller and Stupidity of customers, and Inaction by the administration. This is how drifting minds work in India. Elements of honesty, transparency, hard work, trust, service, patience, acceptance, contentment, inclusiveness, bonding, concern for others seem to have disappeared from our DNA, and replaced by greed, self-centeredness and narrow vision!!!

• Intensity of our idioticness is measurable in the numbers that gather in political rallies to listen to non-issues that can depress any sane person. These so-called leaders speak so passionately for they know we are listening and interested in all their junk-speak which reflects just one thing “VAICHARIC BANJHPAN and DIMAGI DAST ” finding an outlet thru their mouth.
